Captain’s Message: (Denis Tumelty)
It is a privilege and an honour to be serving as Captain for St Patrick’s Golf Club for the 2017 season. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Lady Captain Ann Roden on her election to office and the President, Geraldine Grey on her second year in office. Michael Donovan, as Vice Captain, and I look forward to working with them for the coming season and hope it is a success for all at St Patrick’s Golf Club.
The ladies section have been a great help to me as vice captain especially lady secretary Carmel Hanvey who is an asset to this club. I would also like to thank the council off 2016 for their help especially all the convenors for all there help time and commitment, it has been a learning curve for me. I would also like to thank past captain Gerry Killen and honorary Secretary Rory Scullion for there guidance over the past year.
Now onto 2017 and our teams, Any one captaining a team I thank you and urge everyone to try and represent the club it is both an honour and an enjoyable day out. Our course is in excellent condition and we had summer greens all through the winter, a credit to Emmett Curran and his staff.
My thanks to our professional Robbie Hutton who has been a wealth of knowledge to myself and an ambassador for this club. Both Robbie and Conor Deegan have again enjoyed continued success with the Juveniles, lets hope we can keep this momentum going for 2017 with Gerry Killen as Juvenile convenor. I would like to congratulate the Junior Captains Orla Carson and Matteo Crispi .
